This page used to stand in for the practice manager. It does not any more — the work moved into the
practice manager itself in v0.13 and v0.14. What is left here is the way in, and the handful of things that have to
keep working on a page of their own when something else is broken.
Everything day to day is in the practice manager
Sending a document, opening one, the trail, the certificate, who has not been told, the firm’s
nightly copy, People, the practice’s own data and the tidy-up — all of it is in there, on the same screen as payroll
and bookkeeping.
Send from the assignment. A document sent from this page is matched to its assignment by
client and year afterwards, as a guess. One sent from the assignment carries that assignment’s reference on it, for
good — which is the difference between a T183 that is on the right file and one that looks as though it is.
Your password is right. Now set up the second thing, once — after this you will be asked for it every time you sign in, which is what stops a stolen password being enough on its own. Take as long as you need: this stays open for fifteen minutes after whatever you last did.
A passkeybest
Your phone or this laptop holds the key and unlocks it with your face, fingerprint or device PIN. Nothing to type, and it only works on this hub's real address — so a convincing fake cannot use it.
An authenticator app
Six digits that change every thirty seconds, from Microsoft Authenticator, Google Authenticator or 1Password. Use this if the device you sign in on cannot do a passkey.
One account each, never shared. Switching somebody off ends every session they have open, at once — not just their next sign-in.

Send to the client · the old road
This still works, and it is here for the day the practice manager
will not open. Everything else should go out from the assignment, where the client, the year and the module are
already known and the document is stamped with the assignment rather than matched to it by guesswork.

Picked from the record. When the record lacks the SIN digits or the date of birth, boxes appear here — only their fingerprint leaves this page. Not on the list? Add the client in the practice manager first — the hub takes the record from there, so the client id is always the practice manager's.

The authority (will, POA, resolution) is on file
The request goes to them in their own name; the code goes to their own mobile. The client's date of birth and SIN are never used for this signer. TaxCycle prints who signs and in what capacity on the form itself.
Override the checks
The email is written from the record: who signs, for whom, which form and year.

Tidy up — take a rehearsal client off the hub
Everything the hub holds about a client: their documents, the files behind them, their uploads and their trail. It cannot be undone, and the only thing kept afterwards is a line saying what went and why. Check the internal key against the practice manager before removing anybody — a client pushed with the right key keeps their history; one added here by hand is a second record of the same person.
Loading a backup in replaces the practice manager's data — the client list, engagements, invoices, payroll, books. It does not touch client documents. Signed forms, certificates, uploads and the trail are held separately and are not read or written by this at all.
Replacing is what makes it safe to do more than once: today to check the parts, and again on the day the office actually switches over. Every part it replaces is kept, so anything can be put back.
